AEGIS Hedging Solutions Privacy Policy

AEGIS is committed to serving its customer in a safe and secure manner. This Privacy Policy Statement (this “Privacy Statement”) describes the policies applicable to the use of and privacy of your information. 

Website Covered

This Privacy Statement covers the information practices of www.aegis-hedging.com and other related websites owned or operated by AEGIS (the “Websites”).

Information Collected

AEGIS collects information from individuals or companies who utilize our Services (“Customers”) and individuals who visit the Website (“Visitors”).

When expressing an interest in obtaining additional information about the Services or registering to use the Services, AEGIS requires you to provide personal and business contact information, such as name, address, phone number, and email address (“Required Contact Information”). When purchasing the Services, AEGIS requires you to provide billing information, such as billing name and address and ACH information (“Billing Information”). Finally, when you use the Services, you will be entering and storing information about your actual and forecasted production, lender restrictions and current hedge positions (“Trading Information”) and information pertaining to certain third-party online services and accounts pertaining to your data and information (the “Third Party Services Information”). Required Contact Information, Billing Information, Trading Information and Third Party Services Information are referred to collectively as “Data About AEGIS Customers.”

As you navigate the Website, AEGIS may also collect information through the use of commonly-used information-gathering tools, such as cookies and tracking services (“Website Navigational Information”). Website Navigational Information includes standard information from your web browser (such as browser type and browser language), your Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, and the actions you take on the Website (such as the web pages viewed and the links clicked).

Use of Information Collected

AEGIS uses Data About AEGIS Customers to perform the services requested. For example, if you fill out a “Contact Me” web form, AEGIS will use the information provided to contact you about your interest in the Services.

AEGIS also uses Data About AEGIS Customers to improve our application’s Services. For example, if we find that users are having difficulty with a particular page, we will find ways to make it better.

AEGIS may use aggregated Trading Information on an anonymous basis as part of AEGIS’ business model., including the development of industry benchmarks. AEGIS will only use Trading Information on an anonymous, aggregated basis.

As described in the Terms and Conditions of Service,  AEGIS may disclose your hedge data to (a) certain financial institutions with which you have positions in place, and/or (b) certain financial institutions which serve as a capital provider to you. You authorize access to these financial institutions so long as access is used for internal business purposes. Such access will be granted on a subscription basis and subject to a platform access agreement signed with hedge counterparties and/or capital providers.

AEGIS may also use Data About AEGIS Customers (except Trading Information) for marketing purposes. For example, AEGIS may use the information you provide to contact you to further discuss your interest in the Services and to send you information regarding AEGIS and its partners, such as information about promotions or events.

AEGIS uses ACH information solely to collect payment for the Services.

AEGIS uses Website Navigational Information to operate and improve the Website. AEGIS may also use Website Navigational Information alone or in combination with Data About AEGIS Customers to provide personalized information about AEGIS.

Website Navigational Information

AEGIS uses commonly-used information-gathering tools, such as cookies and Web beacons, to collect information as you navigate the Website. This section describes the types of Website Navigational Information that may be collected on the Website and how this information may be used.

Cookies – AEGIS uses cookies to make interactions with the Website easy and meaningful. When you visit the Website, AEGIS’ servers send a cookie to your computer. Standing alone, cookies do not personally identify you. They merely recognize your web browser. Unless you choose to identify yourself to AEGIS, either by responding to a promotional offer, opening an account, or filling out a web form (such as a “Get in Touch” web form), you remain anonymous to AEGIS. AEGIS uses cookies that are session-based and persistent-based. Session cookies exist only during one session. They disappear from your computer when you close your browser software or turn off your computer. Persistent cookies remain on your computer after you close your browser or turn off your computer. If you have chosen to identify yourself, AEGIS uses session cookies containing encrypted information to allow AEGIS to uniquely identify you. Each time you log into the Services, a session cookie containing an encrypted, unique identifier that is tied to your account is placed your browser. These session cookies allow AEGIS to uniquely identify you when you are logged into the Services and to process your online transactions and requests. Session cookies are required to use the Services. AEGIS uses persistent cookies to identify browsers that have previously visited the Website. When you purchase the Services or provide AEGIS with personal information, a unique identifier is assigned you. This unique identifier is associated with a persistent cookie that AEGIS places on your Web browser. AEGIS is especially careful about the security and confidentiality of the information stored in persistent cookies. For example, AEGIS does not store account numbers or passwords in persistent cookies. If you disable your Web browser’s ability to accept cookies, you will be able to navigate the Website, but you will not be able to successfully use the Services. AEGIS may use information from session and persistent cookies in combination with Data About AEGIS Customers to provide you with information about AEGIS and the Services.

Web Beacons – AEGIS uses web beacons alone or in conjunction with cookies to compile information about Customers and Visitors’ usage of the Website and interaction with emails from AEGIS. Web beacons are clear electronic images that can recognize certain types of information on your computer, such as cookies, when you viewed a particular website tied to the web beacon, and a description of a Website tied to the web beacon. For example, AEGIS may place web beacons in marketing emails that notify AEGIS when you click on a link in the email that directs you to one of the Website. AEGIS uses web beacons to operate and improve the Website and email communications. AEGIS may use information from web beacons in combination with Data About AEGIS Customers to provide you with information about AEGIS and the Services.

IP Addresses – When you visit the Website, AEGIS collects your Internet Protocol (“IP”) addresses to track and aggregate non-personal information. For example, AEGIS uses IP addresses to monitor the regions from which Customers and Visitors navigate the Website.

Third Party Cookies – From time-to-time, AEGIS engages third parties to track and analyze usage and volume statistical information from individuals who visit the Website. AEGIS may also use other third-party cookies to track the performance of AEGIS advertisements. The information provided to third parties does not include personal information, but this information may be re-associated with personal information after AEGIS receives it. AEGIS may also contract with third-party advertising networks that collect IP addresses and other Website Navigational Information on the Website and emails and on third-party Websites.

Public Forums and Customer Testimonials

AEGIS may provide bulletin boards, blogs, or chat rooms on the Website. Any personal information you choose to submit in such a forum may be read, collected, or used by others who visit these forums, and may be used to send you unsolicited messages. AEGIS is not responsible for the personal information you choose to submit in these forums.

AEGIS may post a list of Customers and testimonials on the Website that contain information such as Customer names and titles. AEGIS obtains the consent of each Customer prior to posting any information on such a list or posting testimonials.

Sharing of Information Collected

Unless described in the Agreement, AEGIS does not share, sell, rent, or trade any information provided with third parties for their promotional purposes.

Communications Preferences

AEGIS offers Customers and Visitors who provide contact information a means to choose how AEGIS uses the information provided. You may manage your receipt of marketing and non-transactional communications by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link located on the bottom of AEGIS marketing emails. Additionally, you may send a request specifying your communications preferences to marketing@aegis-hedging.com. Customers cannot opt-out of receiving transactional emails related to their account with AEGIS or the Services or Website.

Security

AEGIS uses appropriate administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect Data About AEGIS Customers.

Changes to this Privacy Statement

AEGIS reserves the right to change this Privacy Statement. AEGIS will provide notification of the material changes to this Privacy Statement through the Website at least thirty (30) business days prior to the change taking effect.
