AEGIS is currently hiring for an associate of accounting to join our growing team. This role provides real-time support to our Manager of Accounting and CFO. The accounting associate will play an important support role and be responsible for daily accounting operations including client billing, accounts receivable and payable, accounts reconciliations, financial records and reports preparation, and other related financial activities. The ideal candidate shall have strong analytical and communication skills, attention to details, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This position will be based in The Woodlands, TX and reports to the Manger of Accounting.
Job Requirements:
- Manage client billing process by maintaining accurate client records, handling invoices, and communicating with clients for billing needs.
- Maintain daily cash balances and transactions.
- Perform daily check deposits and post client payments.
- Prepare weekly accounts receivable aging report.
- Process vendor invoices in line with Company procedures and categorize expenses appropriately.
- Support month-end and year-end financial closes, including assigned journal entries, balance-sheet accounts reconciliations, accruals, and overall maintenance of operational management accounts.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Assist with the annual financial and SOC audit by gathering the documents requested.
- Performs other accounting duties as assigned.
Critical Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (required); emphasis in Accounting, Business, Finance and/or Mathematics preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suites, with heavy emphasis on Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of company and client information.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures preferred.
- Working knowledge of financial modeling and reporting capabilities.
- Experience in QuickBooks and Bill.com preferred.
